October Book Wrap Up

Happy Halloween!! October was a great month for reading and a horrible month for weather. Hurricane Matthew sought to disrupt life here but Floridians are no strangers to the bizarre and downright terrifying thing that is a hurricane. Though it missed Central Florida, where I live, our coastline is rebuilding and the states north of us are still cleaning up the mess. I did manage to read quite a bit while waiting out the storm (yay!) and in between work appointments. Hopefully Florida is in the clear until next hurricane season. Until then….

The Midnight Star Signing: An Afternoon with Marie Lu

Even though I live on the edges of Central Florida’s most well-known tourist attractions, rarely do authors end up in my small town for signings. So when I saw that New York Time’s BestSeller Marie Lu’s The Midnight Star tour was stopping at my local Books-A-Million I could not pass up the opportunity to see her! It was a wonderful Saturday afternoon and such an amazing experience!

I have been eagerly awaiting this book since I first read The Summer Games: Settling the Score. Georgie is the fun, scheming and very ambitious younger sister to Frederick Archibald. It’s hard not to love her after seeing her fierce love for her family and friends in Settling the Score. I know I am not the only one who was left wondering what she was up too after helping Andie and Frederick find their happily ever after.

The Shatter An Empire Edit: Cover Reveal

As I’m sure those of you who follow me on Instagram know, I am an official rep for the fabulous Courtlight series by the ever amazing Terah Edun! Terah Edun is a New York Times and USA Today sworn-to-raise-hardcoverbestselling author of epic and urban fantasy. The Courtlight Series follows the adventures of Ciardis Weathervane, a girl with no future, and Sebastian Algardis, the prince heir she loves. Ciardis and Sebastian were never meant to break the chains binding his powers or upend the imperial courts, now they’re ready to shatter an empire.

Back in spring, Terah’s series was picked up by Ingram books for an exclusive distribution deal. To celebrate she released a brand new cover (pictured to the right) designed for the hardcovers. The latest book in Courtlight series, Sworn to Quell, is set for release later this month. Check out the gorgeous cover below along with the synopsis for the next book!
