Monthly Book Wrap up: December

I can’t believe this year. 2016 has been one hell of a roller coaster. I am more than ready for a fresh start and books! I managed to read some really wonderful ARC’s this month. Get your TBR list ready….

Checkmate: This is War (The Checkmate Duet) (Volume 1) by Kennedy Fox 5/5 stars

This book is SO. HOT. After seeing this all over Benita and Summer’s accounts I knew I had to jump in on this train. It is a hate to love romance and I was not expecting the absolute fierce manner in which Travis and Viola hate to love each other. I’m fairly new the New Adult genre and I feel like I have fully immersed myself with this book. It is not for the faint of heart!

Checkmate: This is Love (Checkmate Duet Book 2) by Kennedy Fox 4/5 stars

After the cliffhanger of an ending with This is War, I immediately started reading This is Love. It’s great when a book wraps up a lot of the main story in a way you were not quite expecting. I love Travis and Viola! Viola is every grown up Potter fan out there living the nerdy life and full of sass. I definitely cannot wait for the companion book to this series to be released. I’m hoping Courtney’s hot cop fantasy comes true!

The Hundred Lies of Lizzie Lovett by Chelsea Sedoti  5/5 stars

I absolutely adore this book. It wasn’t at all what I expected. We all have a little bit of Hawthorn inside of us, that is searching for magic in our everyday world. The Hundred Lied of Lizzie Lovett is both haunting and beautiful. Check out my full review here! I received an ARC from NetGalley for an honest review.

Available January 3, 2017

Gilded Cage (Dark Gifts) by Vic James 5/5 stars

This book is everything I did not know I was missing. This stunning debut by Vic James is absolutely brilliant! It is filled with political intrigue while blending science and magic. I haven’t read a book in this genre that blew me away and Gilded Cage is exceptional. Full review to come in February! I received an ARC from NetGalley for an honest review.

Available February 14, 2017

Daughter of the Pirate King by Tricia Levenseller 5/5 stars

I read this book in one sitting. I kept saying, just one more chapter, just one more chapter and before I knew it… it was the other side of midnight and I was DONE. I am so very excited for the release of this book! It’s bloody brilliant and ridiculous amounts of fun. Captain Alosa is a force to be reckoned with. It will not disappoint you. Full review to come in February! I received an ARC from NetGalley for an honest review.
