Book Tag Thursday: The Coffee Edit

2017 is all about trying new things! I found this fun book tag at MyLittleBookBlog Perfect for the coffee lover in me.

BLACK: A SERIES THAT’S TOUGH TO GET INTO BUT HAS HARDCORE FANS

This is not everyone’s cup of tea. I grew up falling in love with Sci-fi and Fantasy books. The world building in The Red Rising trilogy is incredible and the cast of characters leaves you with the fierce kind of warm and fuzzies. Iron Gold will be out soon. READ THESE NOW. The Red Rising Trilogy (3 Book Series)

PEPPERMINT MOCHA: A BOOK THAT GETS MORE POPULAR DURING THE WINTER OR A FESTIVE TIME OF YEAR

The Night Circus

I read this book around Christmas and I always see it November/December in everyone’s bookstagram feeds. The traveling circus, the entire feel of it brings to mind the feel of cold winter creeping up through October. I would love to get lost in this world.

HOT CHOCOLATE: A FAVORITE CHILDREN’S BOOK

Are we surprised by this choice? Not in the slightest. This was the first fantasy series I fell in love with. It lead me to Tolkein and many many others. My deep appreciation for J.K. Rowling stems directly from what the magic of Narnia has given me. I will always check the wardrobe for that secret passage into the Western Woods. The Chronicles of Narnia Boxed Set

DOUBLE SHOT OF ESPRESSO: A BOOK THAT KEPT YOU ON THE EDGE OF YOUR SEAT FROM START TO FINISH

This book is amazing and I read this in one sitting. You won’t need espresso to stay up and read this one! I’ve been raving about it for a while now and I simply cannot express how much I love it! Alosa is one brilliant heroine. Place your preorders now! Available at the end of February. Daughter of the Pirate King

STARBUCKS: A BOOK YOU SEE EVERYWHERE

The Shadowhunter world has grown beyond what I could have possibly imagined. The books are everywhere, even in places that normally do not sell a huge variety of fiction. The Mortal Instruments, the Complete Collection: City of Bones; City of Ashes; City of Glass; City of Fallen Angels; City of Lost Souls; City of Heavenly Fire

THE HIPSTER COFFEE SHOP: A BOOK BY AN INDIE AUTHOR (A SHOUT OUT)

This middle grade read is so bloody fantastic. It’s adventure, friendships and magic all rolled into one. I love the characters and it’s inspired my creative side all over again. I am so excited for the third installment of this series to be released this year! Chains of Gaia will be available before you know it. This particular edition has lots of extra goodies as well! The Changeling Omnibus: Books 1-2

OOPS! I ACCIDENTALLY GOT DECAF: A BOOK YOU WERE EXPECTING MORE FROM

The Complete Summer I Turned Pretty Trilogy: The Summer I Turned Pretty; It’s Not Summer Without You; We’ll Always Have Summer

I read the Lara Jean books before reading this Summer series by Jenny Han. I think because of that I expected so much more from the main character Belly. Definitely not my favourite  YA Contemporary. I am incredibly excited for Always and Forever, Lara Jean (To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before)

THE PERFECT BLEND: NAME A BOOK OR SERIES THAT WAS BOTH BITTER AND SWEET, BUT ULTIMATELY SATISFYING.

This book is crazy. I didn’t much care for A Court of Thorns and Roses, I despise Tamlin. I love that A Court of Mists and Fury helps Feyre find that inner fire and her true self. It has one hell of a cliffhanger! If you haven’t read this series yet, you may want to time your read closer to the time the third installment, A Court of Wings and Ruin is released in May. A Court of Mist and Fury (A Court of Thorns and Roses)

GREEN TEA: NAME A BOOK OR SERIES THAT IS QUIETLY BEAUTIFUL.

The Hundred Lies of Lizzie Lovett

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It’s not at all what I expected. You can read my spoiler free review here.

CHAI TEA: NAME A BOOK OR SERIES THAT MAKES YOU DREAM OF FAR OFF PLACES.

Both Passenger and Wayfarer capture my love of time travel with period pieces. What I wouldn’t give to be a fly on the wall for some of histories most amazing moments. Or to have the ability to visit civilizations now long gone. Passenger

EARL GREY: NAME YOUR FAVOURITE CLASSIC.

Sense and Sensibility (Penguin Classics) Reprint Edition by Jane Austen published by Penguin Classics Hardcover (2009)

I couldn’t help but choose this classic. The movie adaption is where I first learned of Colonel Brandon, who set the bar high for real life significant others.  It’s a book I love to open at any random page and start reading. The characters and people are so well known to me. I love this story of Jane Austen’s best of all.
