Whenever my birthday comes around I always think of movies such as 13 Going on 30 or 16 Wishes! I love making birthday wish lists. So of course I couldn’t help but share a birthday edition of “What’s in my cart”. Follow the jump to check out my favourite pieces from this season!
I never used to be excited for my birthday growing up. Like any book lover, I rarely ever received BOOKS. Now that I am older and have amazing friends who also love books and reading, books for gifts are a MUST for any occasion. My birthday is this Saturday (Yay! Aries!) and I would love to treat myself to some new releases or some new-to-me authors. What do you recommend I pick up? Check out my full list here: http://a.co/1e0Vvtu
“Oh, it’s only the best day of the year. Every February 13th, my lady friends and I leave our husbands and our boyfriends at home, and we just come and kick it, breakfast-style. Ladies celebrating ladies. It’s like Lilith Fair, minus the angst. Plus frittatas.” – Leslie Knope
I’ve been on a Parks & Rec kick and could NOT resist creating a gift guide for this most auspicious day! So kick back and get your browser fired up for some online power shopping!
I hope you saved up those holiday gift cards and some Christmas cash because the ZARA winter sale is still going strong. Clear out your wardrobe and make room for a new rotation of the best jackets, softest sweaters and flirty prints for 2018. Treat Yo Self!
I couldn’t resist a Weakness post for the last full week of October. With November just around the corner and the holiday season sneaking in it felt like the right time to feature my favourite fall lip colors!
“I would rather sit on a pumpkin, and have it all to myself, than be crowded on a velvet cushion.”
― Henry David Thoreau
The season that sneaks in around the edges of August in the form of a cool breeze during the summer nights or the occasional brisk morning when out walking the pup. It lingers like an old friend during back to school season and the inevitable prep for Halloween. I always anticipate autumn weeks in advance. Florida isn’t known for it’s cool climate and those brisk autumn days are so few. It’s the time I can finally wear layers of scarves and sweaters, boots and over the knee socks, dresses and tights. It’s the time for pumpkin patches and as many outdoor activities (movies in the park, bonfires and smores!) sans bugs that we can cram into the few weeks we have it. Emma and I love to make apple cobblers, autumn stews and enjoy many cups of tea with all the windows thrown open in the house.
Autumn is in full swing, my daughter and I are all set for adventure this season. She’s old enough to remember hay rides and hunting for pumpkins, Halloween movie nights and creating our costumes. I also cannot resist making room in my closet for new autumn pieces. I’ve narrowed down my shopping list to these staples: fall floral prints, oxfords, collared tops, layered jackets, and chunky knit sweaters. I’ve seen a slow change in my own personal style since Emma came into my life. As much as I love a good trend, I really love and appreciate classic pieces that withstand the ever evolving state of fashion each year. Which does explain my current taste for vintage floral patterns and embroidered pieces. Oxfords, whether flat or heeled offer great counter balance to so much feminine print, while cable knit sweaters are often a necessity. I cannot resist pairing my vintage and embellished Peter Pan collars with cozy sweaters for a nerdy meets vintage look. I’ve already acquired a few pieces from my autumn shopping list and am sharing some of my favorites in this post as well!
What’s that? More florals you ask? Bring it on! I am really digging the embellished shoe trend for fall, especially floral embroidered boots. It’s a great way to add some texture and pop to your cozy sweaters, jeans and dresses.
Featured below are some of my favourite styles from all over the internet and what to pair with them.
