September Book Wrap Up

monthly-book-wrap-up-small

I had a set reading list this month, books I definitely wanted to get through before tackling anything new. Of course, that absolutely did not happen! This time of year I turn into a mood reader. Even though Florida is still blazing hot during day light hours, the evenings are slowly cooling down and the usual seasonal thunderstorms leave the air crisp and cool more often than not. I read quite a few really great books this monthand finally start Empire of Storms!

Owl Crate: August Fasts Times at YA High Box

The August YA themed box has such a nostalgic feel for me. If you have not received your box, STOP READING SPOILERS AHEAD. There are still a few available to order so if you are interested in receiving one of your own, do not hesitate to click the OwlCrate links throughout my review and sign up for your very own YA August box.

For those who have not heard about OwlCrate, it is a monthly book subscription box that sends newly published Young Adult novels and assorted bookish goodies to your door. Each month’s OwlCrate is tailored to a fun theme (past themes include MAGIC, MYTHS & LEGENDS, and DIVERSITY) and will contain one new Young Adult novel, as well as 3-5 other bookish treats to help you get your nerd on.

OwlCrate was created to share the joy of reading with the world. We believe in the importance of literature, and the magic of the written word. Stories help to expand our minds, expose us to new experiences, and show us that we’re not alone. But we also know that reading can often feel like a solitary activity, and we wanted a way to bring book nerds together. By sharing the fun of unboxing your OwlCrates, as well as reading each month’s chosen novel along with other members, we hope you find a safe and happy place among our community.

Our manifesto:
1) No one is too old to read YA.

2) We will not be ashamed of our TBR piles.

3) It’s okay to fall in love with fictional characters.

4) The book is always better than the movie (but the movies are fun too!).

5) Books have the ability to change our world.

If this sounds like something you can relate to, join us today! We promise to only send you the best of the best of Young Adult fiction, and to pleasantly surprise you with bookish goodies every single month.

We can’t wait to get nerdy with you!

Korrina and Robert (creators of OwlCrate, and massive book geeks).

Warning: Spoilers Ahead!
