Birthday Musings: 33 Things I have Learned

I, for once, thoroughly enjoyed my birthday Friday. I am now officially 33 years old! It still does not feel like I am in my thirties. I am still every bit the geeky girl I was growing up, even more so, now. I think these are the years I’ve started growing into the person I’ve always wanted to be. I have found an inner confidence and self love I never knew possible. So, in honor of birthday’s and being another year older, I want to share with all you lovelies 33 things I’ve learned in the past 33 years. I hope you enjoy!

 

 

33 Things I’ve Learned In 33 Years

  1. It is OKAY to ask for help. Even if you don’t want to.
  2. You can and will get through things, even when you think you can’t.

  4. Putting yourself first is NOT selfish. Sometimes it’s necessary.
  5. Say I love you over and over and over, there is no such thing as too much.
  6. True friends stick around. Don’t waste time or energy on the ones that don’t or the ones that bring you down to bring themselves up.
  7. Always be honest.
  8. Kindness matters.
  9. Saying no is okay. You don’t have to do it all.
  10. Own up to your mistakes and learn from them.
  11. Choose your battles, you do not always need to be right.
  12. Coffee with friends, whether in person or by Skype is always deserved
  13. Wear red lipstick, Wear your highest heels or a fabulous dress just because you want too.
  14. Let your FANDOM FLAG FLY Proudly! It’s okay to be as nerdy/geeky on the outside as you are on the inside
  15. It is okay to have a lazy day.
  16. Family is the most important. Everything else comes second or even third or fourth.
  17. It’s good to change up your environment every now and then.
  18. Friends are the family we choose.
  19. Sympathy and empathy are not the same thing.
  20. Treat yourself every now and then, you do deserve it.
  21. Take as much time with things as you need, we all move at our pace.
  22. Being a mother is an ever changing journey. It will never be the same for two people.
  23. Take time to be still, to be quiet, to listen to yourself.
  24. Read everything and anything, but read it with gusto and savor every moment.

  26. Age, Weight, Size: It is just a number, be happy with who you are.
  27. Showing my daughter what it means to be a strong, confident, woman means everything to me
  28. Me time is just as important as time you spend with others.
  29. Make time to do something OTHER than work.
  30. Family is the MOST important. Everything else comes second or even third.
  31. Do not judge a book by it’s cover, do not judge your peers by what you can only see.
  32. Complete at least one thing a year from that bucket list
